Water:
- The Elixir of Water.
C.V.Raman
This is chapter is written by one of the for
most C.V.Raman through this chapter .He wishes to make us aware about the impotence
of the common substance on the surface of the Earth: Water. It is supposed to
be the most wonderful gift given to the creature on the Earth.
He calls water the divine
AMRIT which is irreplaceable and without which our existence would not be possible.
Here he talks about water with two separate aspect of it. On one side he talks
about the sea water and on another side he talks about water in river, through
rain and through conservation. These are multiple historical evidences which
allow us to be sure about the fact that water is the lifeline for everything on
earth.
I t also adds beauty to nature, when in full flow and season wherein
it adds the beautiful sight to the scenery.
For instance, in India which
is an agricultural based country? Water become remarkable facts about water and
its importance is that it can carry silt or soil to the places of variation
flowing water is far more advantages as against the stagnant water. Sometimes too
much of flowing water transport the silt towards the sea which finally mixes
into it and the remaining particles
needed in order to make the land fertile stay put where are for proper
vegetation.
Flowing Water sometimes can
prove to be destructive as well. The excessive flow of water might wash away
the soil which is the foundation of all agricultural purpose and land to soil
Erosion because of soil Erosion ravines get created wherein agriculture becomes
impossible .Even excessive rain can lead to soil Erosion because of each the
precious soil .On the upper crust of the land gets washed out leading to non
agricultural land. That is why there are dams constructed to check the excessive
flow of water.
As it is said that water is
the basis of all life and almost 17% of our body consist of water. It is
equally important to the animal life as well as for the growth of plant and
trees around .For all these activities water should be properly conserved and utilizes.
Apart from its conservation most of our agriculture depends on seasonal
rainfall which as become extremely irregular now a days because of which proper
technique should be developed in order to conserve water as soon as possible.
Sometimes it rains in means
quality and in order to utilizes it Properly and dams are carefully
developed.Unfortunately there is a lot of water wasted because of lack of proper
planning .In so far as conservation of water is concert’s responsible citizen
of the civil area as they would help in stopping the flowing away the water and
it would therefore not be wasted.
It can also help in
creating internal water ways in India and above all its conservation would make
the generation of hydro electronic power which can make electricity much
cheaper.
This would make a lot of
difference in the life of rural India as
it would ultimately lead to the growth
of rural economy.
It would help and anbles to store the
water underneath the surface of the earth. So that there are no problems when
there is irregularity from the other sources of supply because of its imaging
properties it is fundamental for human welfare and thus talking it as an Elixir.
According to C. V.Raman It should be the topic of the highest scientific interest
quality for human welfare.
