My view about the Movie "Hamlet" by Kenneth
Branagh
I Really
enjoyed the movie of “Hamlet”. It is great Tragedy of that time and Its give
aesthetic delight while watching the movie.
1) How faithful is
the movie to the original play?
Ans:-We are
watching a movie, it is very faithful than an original play. The movie is more
visualized than the original play. In the movie the character, scene and plot
very beautiful portrayed and it is very well expresses the insecurity and
aggressive behavior of the hamlet.
2) After watching the movie, have your perception about play, characters or situations changed?
2) After watching the movie, have your perception about play, characters or situations changed?
Ans:- we are
watching a movie, it is very well present the scene, plot, setting, situation
of the play. In the movie we are slip down one scene to another scene at the
starting, all are celebrating the function at the another side hamlet saw a
ghost at the begging the Claudius is introducing our feeling towards his wife
at the time he going to flash back and he is saw a letter to the public and
said that how the king hamlet is handover whole business to me. The director
vary beautiful presenting flash back techniques.
3) Do you feel ‘aesthetic delight’ while watching the movie? If yes, exactly when did it happen? If no, can you explain with reasons?
3) Do you feel ‘aesthetic delight’ while watching the movie? If yes, exactly when did it happen? If no, can you explain with reasons?
Ans:-
Yes, I am feel 'aesthetic delight' when watching this movie at the begging
horatio and hamlet talking about it is not right that Claudius become king of
Denmark. The horatio said that I know your father at the time the hamlet see a
ghost. He is following the ghost and the said that 'I am spirit of your
father’. Hamlet is see the father and he said hamlet that how Claudius is
poisoned my ear. this scene give me aesthetic delight because that time the
father and son meet together after the long-time and hamlet expressing very
much love towards his father and he said that I am following all command of my
father and I am take a revenge of my father and I am killed my uncle.
4) Do you feel ‘catharsis’ while or after watching movie? If yes, exactly when did it happen? If no, can you explain with reasons?
4) Do you feel ‘catharsis’ while or after watching movie? If yes, exactly when did it happen? If no, can you explain with reasons?
Ans:-Yes, I
am feel 'catharsis' after when Ophelia and hamlet are died. hamlet is not
decided to take a revenge of his father so he is living very peaceful life.the
hamlet take wrong decision to take revenge of his father and his error of
judgement that he is doing such kind of thing it is responsible of his downfall
.At the end everyone praises hamlet but at the end the fortinbras soldiers is
broken down the hamlet statue. he is responsible of his own death.
5) Does screening of movie help you in better understanding of the play?
5) Does screening of movie help you in better understanding of the play?
Ans:- The
movie is helps better understanding than the original play because it is gives
wider knowledge than the original play. In the movie the audiences capture the
moment which interpretation by the director. In the film the scene, plot,
setting, situation is very beautiful arranged by the director. so it is better
understanding than the original play.
6) Was there any particular scene or moment in the movie that you will cherish lifetime?
6) Was there any particular scene or moment in the movie that you will cherish lifetime?
Ans:-
The Ophelia graveyard scene will cherish my whole lifetime
because she is innocent girl. She is very faithful towards hamlet when the
Ophelia frightened that she is read the letter of hamlet and she is tell his
father that hamlet is a mad and worry about him. It is represent true
love towards hamlet at the middle she very depressed that she listened the news
that hamlet is killed his father at the time she is not sorrow his father but
her grief towards hamlet at the end she is mad and she is committee suicide.
she is very innocence girl and she is not doing any mistakes of his whole
life so why she is paid such kind of things.
7) If you are director, what changes would you like to make in the remaking of movie on Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’?
7) If you are director, what changes would you like to make in the remaking of movie on Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’?
Ans:-If I am a director of the movie of
hamlet that I am changing the begging and ending sequences because the soldiers
is broken down the statue of hamlet this moment is not right according to me
because he is decided to take a revenge of his father and killed his uncle. he
doing such kind of thing because he is follow command of his father. he is
living peaceful life and he is not take a revenge of his father but he is doing
such kind of thing under pressure of his father.
8) In the beginning of the movie, camera rolls over the statue of King Hamlet out side the Elsinore castle. The movie ends with the similar sequence wherein the statue of the King Hamlet is hammered down to the dust. What sort of symbolism do you read in this? (Clue: In Book IX of 'Paradise Lost', Satan reflects on his revenge motive: "But what will not ambition and revenge; Descend to? Who aspires must down as low; As high he soared, obnoxious, first or last, To basest things. Revenge, at first though sweet, Bitter ere long back on itself recoils." Is it not King Hamlet's ambition to avenge his death responsible for the downfall of his kingdom which is symbolically pictured in last scenes?)

Ans:- In the movie the begging and ending
sequence are similar wherein the statue of the king hamlet hammered down to the
dust. This is Kenneth branagh’s setting. Here is suggesting that it is not king
hamlet’s ambition to avenge his death responsible for the downfall of his
kingdom hamlet is not to revenge of his father. The hamlet desire is fulfil
when he killed his uncle. He is not take revenge of his father his is doing
such thing because of command of his father. The revenge is an emotion that
comes naturally and The revenge is never sleep of man it is told Thomas kid and
eyerytime he is think about how kill my uncle and he is not living peaceful life
under pressure of his father. The everyman is praises hamlet but at the end he
met tragic end. he is own responsible of his own death because he is not decide
to take revenge of his father so he is living very peaceful life but choose
wrong path so he met tragic end.
9) While studying the play through movie, which approach do you find more applicable to the play? Why? Give reasons with illustrations.
9) While studying the play through movie, which approach do you find more applicable to the play? Why? Give reasons with illustrations.
Ans:- Here there are psychological approach is
more applicable in the movie than the original play because this approach more
illustrated by the director.hamlet is suffers the Oedipus complex because of
his mother abnormally sensual affection of her son. hamlet think that why
my mother marry of my uncle and why my mother broken the vow of my
father. She is not trust of her son so why she doing this. So why she betray my
father so I am not understand of my mother. She hurt of my heart because she
marry my uncle. Here the director is present mirror scene of hamlet it is
suggest that he is depress to situation which is happens around. he think that
his mother is living a life as widow of his father but she is not
doing this and marry of my uncle. Here in the play hamlet portray anger
minded people and present the aggressive behaviour of hamlet and he
is not control himself. In the play the hamlet stands alone front of the
mirror and he is speaking full of madness it is suggest that how he depress of
the situation which is happens the around and how he slipped
down to the madness. Here there are two hamlet in the movie
because one, hamlet is a noble, sensitive , intelltual, idealist and the sweet
prince and who express himself in a unforgettable poetry and who is
dedicated to the truth. The other hamlet who treats Ophelia and Gertrude so
cruelty who stays Polonius and sent Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to their death
so here we are see silt personality of the character of hamlet.
10) Which of the above mentioned approaches (in Pre-viewing task) appeals you more than other? Why? Give reasons.
10) Which of the above mentioned approaches (in Pre-viewing task) appeals you more than other? Why? Give reasons.
Ans:- I think that here is textual approach is
more appropriate than the any other approaches in the pre-
view task because one said that the text is best source of own study and text
is give the knowledge about the character, writer, society and text is
best source is evaluate the work. So I am said that textual approach is more
appropriate than other approaches.
Thank you sir, to sharing wonderful movie of the"Hamlet". The movie give wider knowledge than the original play.
